KLOCKRIKETEATERN DOES SKÄRGÅRDSTEATERN
Together with Skärgårdsteatern we invite you to a show based on the Swedish poet and singer/songwriter Carl Michael Bellman's life and works.
Like Bellman, who escapes the stale air in the summer city, we sail away and tour in the Finnish-Swedish archipelago, with a show that offers an insight into Bellman's world through his words and music.
In this love song to the Swedish language, we get to experience Bellman's time (not that different from ours, after all!) in a unique way. The performance speaks to a modern audience, without forgetting the darker tones that a lot of Bellmans poetry are based on.
Above all, BELLMAN – Är jag född så vill jag lefva!, is a tribute to the Nordoc summer, full of excitement, dreams and longing.
Solen glimmar blank och trind,
Vattnet likt en spegel;
Småningom upblåser vind
I de fallna segel;
Vimpeln sträcks, och med en år
Olle på en Höbåt står;
Kerstin ur Kajutan går,
Skjuter lås och regel.
- Fredmans Epistel N:o 48
